A congratulatory message

It's sad when any season comes to an end, but I think it's important to recognize Rockwall-Heath's football team and run they had this season. Not to take anything from the Yellow Jackets and their impressive comebacks, but the Hawks really gave their faithful something to cheer for. Our hats off to you boys. You had one heck of a year.

First Amendment denied

I am one of the most out spoken critics of Occupy movement there is, but even I can't abide what happened early this morning in Dallas.

The Occupy movement of Dallas was effectively shut down after the protesters were told they would be allowed to stay in their location for one more month only a few hours before. As I said I have no love for this movement, but this is pathetic. Granted, these people are confused and seem to be leaderless - especially in Dallas, but to silence their voice in such a manner is an affront to our constitution. The protesters were given a fair ultimatum, screw up again and that's it. It's almost laughable that "too much" trash was the reason the local movement was shut down. I find it hard to believe that DPD and the Dallas government ever planned to let the occupiers stay until mid-Decemeber.

The major concern all along with these people was public safety. The conditions the occupiers were occupying in were less than quality. Plus there was the issue of drugs and the homeless co-occupying the occupiers area. The conditions were unsanitary and unsafe, but that's all part of revolt. It's dangerous and the revolters realize this. If they're committed to the cause they stay, if they'e not they'll leave, but shutting them down is just wrong. They had a right to be there and still do. Today was a sad day for our democracy.

Post,post season baseball talk

I have a few ideas for the Rangers. Before I begin, just so everyone is clear I am a die hard Yankee fan, but I still have an acceptable amount of love fore the local boys.

First let CJ go. I know the idea of a strong south paw is appealing to any team, but it's not what the Rangers' need. Let my beloved 27 time champions pick him up and add to their already dominate rotation. Instead I'm going to suggest a modified version of an idea I heard on ESPN radio today.

First acquire Prince Fielder to the tune of four years. Then work out a deal with the Giants that will give them Cruz and three prospects for Lincecum. This gives the Giants a much needed boost to their offense, doesn't really cost the Rangers anything offensively and adds that coveted ace position to the Rangers' rotation. It's win, win for everyone!
