The Woodcreek Haunted Trail was a wonderful event put on by wonderful people and frankly it was refreshing to see something of that caliber.
I am always afraid when small towns create haunted anything because the possibility of corniness goes up rather dramatically. That was not the case with Woodcreek. They pulled together and put on an event that was not only incredibly entertaining, but beneficial to the community as well.
I tip my hat to you Woodcreek Haunted Trail Committee. It was certainly a job well done.

Occupy Rockwall?
I certainly hope not. All these occupy (insert name of street, or city here) nuts are driving me batty. I am all for free speech and I am all for trying to rid the world of injustice, but simply complaining about wealth and corruption is ludicrous. It presents the youth of our country as fools and as a member of the youth of our country I am slightly offended. Aside from the fact that the young simply don't vote this sort of march because it's something to do mentality is not only idiotic, it's dangerous. Allowing oneself to be lead by people with no real plan is how legitimate protests and change are destroyed. Seek out a plan, design a policy, explain why your upset. Don't just come off the handle saying you will occupy this country - guess what you already do. And you're far from the 99 percent when looking in from a global perspective.
I agree our country has some issues. Greed and mismanagement are certainly around in corporate America. But just whining about the issue is not a solution. Right now the occupy movement looks like a social group for fresh out of college kids who can't cut it in today's world.

That black gold
I've never been much for crude oil. It facilitates greed and can destroy any area when procured. Shockingly I am all for a pipeline that comes through Rockwall. The chances of business increase are too good to pass up. I say bring on the business and bring on the oil!

An update on 66
On the way into the office today workers were tearing apart highway 66 and repairing the damaged areas. I am more than pleased and hope the city and TexDOT continues to work diligently toward fixing the roads. My hats off to you.
Lets talk about 66
The road is ridiculous. Everything from FM 549 to Caddo Mills is frightfully terrible. It has the potential to destroy any car's axles and is an issue that needs to be addressed. I understand that that the weather over the last three months has been less than ideal for road conditions, but come on. It's high time TexDOT got out there and did more than put temporary patches on the road. Yes, road construction and repair is annoying, but it is badly needed. Our tax dollars need to be used the right way before a bevy law suits are filed against TexDOT for road damage to cars.
Wasted money
During a recent county commissioner court meeting the court voted 4-1 to stay in the old courthouse instead of moving to the new one. Personally I find this appalling. The new courthouse has become a major part of what defines Rockwall. Why are we not using it for everything possible? Commissioners Magnus and Bailey said it was expenses and that moving to the new courthouse would make them less accessible to the voting public. That makes no sense to me since the historic courthouse lacks decent parking and his located off the beating path where as the new courthouse is right on I-30. There is no reason we shouldn't be using this new building.
